Mr. Huey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, California and a Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law with emphasis in technology and intellectual property law. Mr. Huey is admitted to the State Bar of California.

Mr. Huey has been involved in patent law since 2008 and previously worked for an intellectual property law firm specializing in patent prosecution in Los Gatos, California and at Intellectual Ventures, a private company dealing in patents and invention capital in Palo Alto, California. He has drafted and prosecuted patent applications associated with varied technological areas under the supervision of registered practitioners. For example, Mr. Huey has been involved with patent applications related to optical communications systems and tracking devices, user interface systems, computer networking, mobile devices, advertisement generation and targeting, artificial intelligence, and gaming and graphics systems.

Mr. Huey is an inventor of a patented analytical tool used to estimate exposure to patent infringement lawsuits (U.S. Patent No. 8,620,800).

Mr. Huey's work is performed under the supervision of a registered practitioner.
